Beloved, good Friday evening,
I pray this note finds you well, and your week has been productive and effective. Can you believe we are exactly one week away from Christmas? Christmas is one of the most celebrated Christian events when we rejoice of the advent of Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow morning we will funeralize Ms. Zakelia D. Battle at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. I am asking all who are able to please join me for this service in support of Mrs. Denise Williams the mother of Zakelia. Denise also is a former usher of our church. Continue to pray for Denise Williams during this very difficult time in her life, as she prepares to bury her third child.
Also, join Dr. Maxine Woodside and me from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. as we give away over 50 bikes, toys, clothes and food in our annual Angel Tree Ministry. You will be blessed as you see the smiles on the faces of these families. I want to thank all of you for making it possible to be a blessing to others.
I continue to be in prayer for those in our church family who are ill and who have lost loved ones. Mother Mae O. Smith went home to be with the Lord, and her funeral service has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Beulah Baptist Church. Mother Smith was a faithful member of our church for almost 20 years.
I also want to remind all of you about our Annual Christmas party tomorrow evening, Saturday, December 19, 2015. We will also say good-bye to Tony and Greta Pollard as they they relocate to Jacksonville, Florida. They really have been a blessing to us and certainly will be missed.
In preparation for the word this week, let me encourage you to read Matthew 1:18-25 as we continue our series, “Christmas Conversations.” I will be preaching from the subject “This Is Not What I Planned.”
In closing please know that I love you, pray for you and that I am glad to be,
