From the Bishop February 22, 2017
Beloved, Good Wednesday morning,
I pray that this note finds you well and that your week is getting off to a great start. I know that this is not the normal day that I write to you, but there are so many exciting things going on in the life of our church and at times I do not get the time to adequately share all the information with you.
As you know we are about to enter into our annual time of Fasting and Consecration and there are some things I want to share with you and remind you of. Our fasting and consecration begins Wednesday, March 1, 2017. We will be praying and fasting for 40 days.
Also, I am encouraging the entire church to join with me on Wednesday nights for the “Emotional Healthy Spiritually Course” Small Groups. There are three books we will be using for the next eight weeks for this course. Please see Sister Sonya Hadley to purchase the books and get more information. You will be blessed by your participation.
Join me today in 12 Noon Bible Study as we continue our series on the Fruit of the Spirit. Today our focus is on “Gentleness.”
Tonight, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. the entire church is traveling to First Baptist Institutional Church 3100 3rd Avenue S. St. Petersburg, FL 33712 Dr. Wayne G. Thompson, Senior Pastor. Service time is 7:00 P.M.
Let me remind everyone for this upcoming Sunday, we are observing “Black History Month” at our church. Please bring a covered dish for fellowship after the worship service. You also are encouraged to wear your African attire/outfit this coming Sunday.
“First Fruit Giving” Sunday, March 12, 2017. Start now praying and asking God to help you and to reveal to your sacrificial gift to give on First Fruit Sunday.
I know this is a lot of information and that these are busy days but they are also exciting days and I really want you to be a part of them.
Please join me in praying for those on our prayer list and those in the hospital. Pray for our seniors, Dorothy Carswell Walker, Margaret Brookins, Bertha Kemp, Denna Pace, Dean and Jerilyn Jackson.
