Beloved, Good Morning,
Today is the first day of 2016! Can you believe it? We’re in a New Year.
I am sure that like me, you can look back over last year and see time and time again the faithfulness of God.
For many of us, 2015 was a challenging year; yet, God has brought us through it, and we have emerged from it. Last night, as we gathered in one of the most significant and historic worship services of our year- ” Watch Night.” God really anointed the worship service as we celebrated the closing of 2015 and the entrance of 2016. Each year we gather for this service of praise and preparation for the New Year. Allow me to thank all of you for pressing your way to be in the worship celebration. The word was powerful, the music was tremendous, and the fellowship was rich!
Please remember that each night for the next seven days we will come together for prayer. Beginning tonight, Friday, January 1, 2016, we will gather at the church starting at 6:00 p.m. for prayer. Please join us and invite someone to come with you for the next seven nights.
In preparation for the Word and worship on Sunday, let me encourage you to read Daniel 9 as we focus on verses 1-4 begin begin a new series “Elevate.” On Sunday, I will be preaching from the subject “Elevate Your Heart.” The aim of this series is to focus on our theme for the year 2016 -“The Year of Elevation.”
We all have a desire to elevate our lives to that next level. We know that we can be better, do better, live better, and give better. Join us as we look at practical and biblical ways to elevate our lives in our careers, our relationships, our faith, and our finances.
We continue to be in prayer for those in our church family who are ill and who have lost loved ones. Continue to pray for the family of Mother Mae Ollie Smith during this time of grief. Denise Williams is depending on our prayers to sustain her in her time of sorrow and grief, as she continues to struggle with the demise of her daughter. Please remember to be in prayer for the sick, the bereaved, and the shut-in. Pray for Mother Lottie Hamilton and Lillian Blusaw who are both hospitalized.
Last night, we said good-bye to Tony and Greta Pollard as they relocate to Jacksonville, Florida. They certainly will be missed. We also, welcomed our new Minister of Music, A. Kirk Blackwood from Brooklyn, New York.
Be blessed and know that I love you, pray for you and I am glad to be, your pastor
Happy New Year!
Beloved, Good Morning,
