Beloved, good Saturday morning,
I pray that this note finds you well; and, despite the chilly weather; you have had a blessed and productive week.
I have had a good week with my brothers in Orlando playing golf. As some of you know, every year at this time, Bishop Clarke and about six other pastors join me for a time of relaxation and restoration on the golf course. I am grateful for this time with friends and colleagues.
In preparation for the Word and worship on Sunday, let me encourage you to read 1 Chronicles 29:10-17 as we continue our series on “Elevation.” On Sunday, I will be preaching from the subject “Elevate Your Generosity.”
I have been blessed as members have told me how much this series has spoken to them and challenged them as they begin the New Year. I hope that you too have inventoried your life and have been challenged to elevate your life to a new level that will bring glory and praise to Almighty God.
This weekend we are praying for our brothers and sister on the east coast who have been hit by a major winter storm. We are also praying for our brothers and sisters in Flint, Michigan, as they endure the water crisis.
This week we are praying for those in our family facing surgery and dealing with the loss of loved ones. Sister Rujel Buggs is scheduled to have surgery Thursday, January 28, 2016. Please keep her lifted in our prayers.
There are others in our church today that need us to pray for them; so, let us keep them lifted before the Lord. Please remember to be in prayer for the sick, the shut-ins, and our seniors.
In closing know that I love you, pray for you, and I am glad to be your pastor
